In mid March of 2003 CBT Systems was contacted to begin a Consultancy for the
National Football League. The initial purpose of this work was to develop financial
models for both a production and broadcast facility and annual operating costs for
a new 24/7 television network start-up. Within 3 short months CBT Systems assisted
the new NFL Network team in choosing a facility location, specifying technology
direction, developing preliminary facility and studio designs and assembling a
core of production and operational personnel.
By mid July 2003 CBT Systems was under contract with the NFL to provide full
"Turn-key" Systems Integration and On-Air start-up support for the new network.
Additionally, through this build-out process CBT Systems coordinated the design
and installation of the NFL Information Technology (IT) equipment and systems.
CBT Systems also coordinated the successful implementation of 32 remote
Team Cam Systems, operating through DSL circuit connections.
This new approach to inexpensive Remote-2-Way-Broadcasts is
nominated for a 2004 Technical Emmy Award.
On November 4, 2003 the NFL Network was successfully launched,
on schedule, and on budget. From concept to on-air in 7 months.
