CBT Systems work on this substantial project began in 1998 with Architectural
Consultation and Building Infrastructure Specification Development.
It continued on through 1999 with Technical Systems Design Development,
highlighted by the construction of Full Scale Mock-Ups for each Operational
Control Space in the facility.
In January 2000, CBT Systems and ABC7 agreed to continue their relationship with
CBT Systems providing the Detailed System Design, Integration Management, Station
Relocation and complete Technical System Integration. These efforts culminated on
December 9, 2000 as ABC7 began full time "On-Air" operations from the new facility.
Full size mock-ups were utilized to provide ABC7's production personnel the ability
to preview and evaluate the console designs and placement in the new Post and Production
Control Rooms. From experience, CBT Systems has learned that full size mock-ups help
identify sight lines, equipment placement, and space planning design issues efficiently
before being built and installed.
CBT Systems assisted ABC7's Management, Engineering and Operations staff,
and Project Architect, in developing a facility design that would serve the
station with its transition to multi-channel digital broadcasting.
